I am Minh Tran, a platform engineer based in Amsterdam. I lead a small DevOps team at a fraud-detection company, where the day job is a fleet of Kubernetes clusters on AWS serving banks: GitOps with Flux, a self-hosted metrics and logging stack, an Envoy-based edge, and the threat modelling and ISO 27001 controls that go with handling that kind of traffic.
Before platform work I spent four years in vulnerability research on browsers. The one artifact from that time still in wide circulation is a use-after-free fix in PDFium that shipped in Chromium and Android.
At home I run a six-machine Talos Kubernetes cluster, managed by Sidero Omni and reconciled by Flux. It is public at github.com/minhtt159/infra-talos and is where most of the homelab posts come from.
What the posts are about
Every post here is checked against four rules:
- Measure rather than trust the documentation.
- Attribute a change before claiming credit for it.
- Name precisely what was measured.
- State the cost alongside the win.
Work material is genericised: no customer names, no internal system names, no supplier names. Numbers are real and were measured, not recalled.
